Holiday smoking can kill


Holidays now come and as far as relaxation due to no work, majority of cigarette smokers tends to increase their consumption of cigarettes. from parties and other forms of socializing. at this time we can almost forgot or even don't count the amount of cigarettes being consumed.

Since it's the season where one would be with his/her family celebrating this holidays, why not give them an additional gift of not smoking or reduce it. It would be certainly beneficial to you and your love ones. Yes! this special gift is free! give it all you like (LOL!) you can brag about it all you want but the best is doing it for yourself (that's a +).

Please don't even try to think to give a cigarette pack to a relative or friend, it promotes health hazard and even death. Let's celebrate the holidays with a clean conscience and healthy as possible. don't want to spoil this holiday by celebrating it in a hospital or even worst (that sucks!).

"Cigarettes kill," but don't tell smokers

BEIJING, Dec. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- Study shows that warnings related to self-esteem were more effective than those indicating "cigarettes kill" in reducing smoking, according to media reports quoting the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology Monday.

Psychologists from the U.S., Switzerland and Germany conducted a small study and drew the conclusion that warnings such as "smoking makes you unattractive" or "smoking brings you and the people around you severe damage" do a better job in talking people out of their habit.

This worked especially well when people smoked to boost their self-esteem, such as young people who learned to smoke to become popular or fit in with their peers, the psychologists figured out.

"To succeed with anti-smoking messages on cigarette packs one has to take into account that considering their death may make people smoke," the study said.

A total of 39 psychology students, smokers aged between 17 and 41, participated in the study.

"On the one hand, death-related warnings were not effective and even ironically caused more positive smoking attitudes among smokers who based their self-esteem on smoking," the study said.

"On the other hand, warning messages that were unrelated to death effectively reduced smoking attitudes" among those who smoke for self-esteem.

95 % of global population is unprotected by smoking ban laws.

600,000 people kill on secondhand smoking.
10% of world population is covered by any single measure (protecting people to smoke, ban on tobacco ads and tax raise on tobacco products.)

8 million people kill by 2030 - if developing countries don't take drastic action.

Smoking levels naturally drop off — as they have in Western countries — when populations become richer and better-educated.

Nowadays, purely text warning or advisory on stop or quit smoking is commonly ignored. We get used to seeing it, and just don't see them anymore. It is good to see that some health conscious country has the will to save the smokers and non smokers specially the young ones, to keep them out from this addictive vice. and at least dream of having a cigarette free place (too bad for the tobacco company!). I hope this can be soon implemented here in the philippines, where tobacco companies are pretty darn rich!

The facts are clear. There is nothing worse you could do to adversely affect your health. Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death. Women are three times more likely to develop lung cancer then men. Although there has been a huge decrease in the number of smokers between 1965 and 2000, 22f American adults still continue to smoke. The good news is that surveys have shown that 70f active smokers want to quit.

When you quit smoking the benefits are immediate. Blood cells that transport carbon monoxide from cigarette smoke begin to transport healthy oxygen. Even though quitting doesn't completely eliminate the risk of developing lung cancer, the risk of lung cancer starts to decline. One year after quitting smoking your chances of having a heart attack drops by half. The risk of lung cancer continues to decline and drop dramatically five to ten years after quitting. So we know that quitting is essential to enjoying a long and healthy life. The question is how do you pick the right way to stop smoking for you?

The first thing you need to know is that most smokers quit unsuccessfully several times before they quit for good. You will most likely not be successful your first time around - but you must still try! Each time you attempt to quit you come closer to finally quitting for good.

There are many organizations available to help you take control of your health and quit smoking. Most smokers find a greater success rate in groups. Organizations such as SmokEnders have community based seminars and will come to the workplace to counsel smokers. SmokEnders is a gradual stop smoking program that says it's success is based on treating the physical and the psychological aspects of smoking. They offer unlimited toll-free phone counseling.

Some people prefer to try to stop cold turkey. They stop smoking completely with little or no reduction in the number of cigarettes they smoke beforehand. As with any smoker who quits, those who quit cold turkey will experience the withdrawal symptoms of irritability, increased appetite and restlessness. For someone trying to stop smoking cold turkey help can be obtained using medications such as Zyban which lessens withdrawal symptoms. Zyban can only be obtained with a prescription.

Some smokers obtain relief from smoking withdrawal with a nicotine replacement commonly known as a nicotine patch. Patches are used for up to eight weeks. Nicotine patches are available over the counter. It is suggested that you talk to your doctor before trying any over the counter nicotine replacement therapy.

Smoking and Impotence - real Kill


Almost everyone know what impotence is, to describe it clearly it is the inability of a man to to have a stiffness on his thing or erection for sexual purposes. Now that is scary! The most scariest of this is that i've read that Impotence or erectile dysfunction is more twice likely to be more affected on smokers compared to non-smokers. what the ****!

Here are the facts I gathered:

Sexual functioning requires the coordination of several functions in the body. This includes the nervous system (mental stimulation)working in coordination with hormones, and the vascular system which pumps blood into the muscle tissue that maintains the erection.Smoking can affect all these systems, thereby, causing impotence.

Many diseases caused by smoking involve blockage of the arteries,meaning that smoking inhibits the flow of blood throughout thebody. Strokes and heart attacks are one result of severe blood flow blockage. Impotence is another result of arterial blockage.

Long-term smoking causes more physiological damage. In a United States study, healthy men who smoked,with no history of impotence, heart disease or diabetes, were interviewed twice over 8 years. The second interview revealed that although these men still had no heart disease or diabetes,they were twice as likely to experience moderate or severe impotence.

A secondary study indicated that smoking is an independent risk factor contributing to impotence.After considering other risk factors, it was found that current smokers were twice as likely to experience impotence as non-smokers.
Another independent study grouped impotent smokers,according to how many cigarettes they smoked each day.
The study concluded:
heavy smokers (40+ cigarettes/day) had the "softest" night-time erections;
smoking was related to an abnormal decline of blood pressure in the penis.


In case you have some impotency problem due to cigarette smoking, the onli way to cure this if the degree of damages is not yet worst is by simply quitting cigarette smoking. How simple is that! We know its not but let's make sure we are preparing for it, or suffer its consequences.

Cemetery Cigarettes



As a yearly tradition, we visited the cemetery on our Halloween holidays and as expected traffic and a large volume of people will be there. As usual we packed things like candles, flowers and some food and snacks, its like a whole day event where we remember the beloved relatives and friend who past away by lighting a candle, offering prayers and flowers.

During the visit, while we were walking, we past by this unusual headstone. Normally candles are lighted up, but with this one, it was cigarettes. A pack of cigarettes and a box of match was also left infront of the headstone it looks to me as it was an offering instead of the usual flowers.

I got curious and decided to hang around this headstone, there lay (according to the engraving) a 22 year old man who died 2 years ago. when I was about to leave 2 man visited, they light up a cigarette and after some puffs they put the cigarettes in a miniature vase (for flowers) and lay it infront of the headstone. Surely, it was his friends who is visiting him, the mystery is why are they lighting up cigarettes instead of candles. My guess is that the guy probably dies from a cigarette smoking related cause and that they remember him as a happy smoking dude! or maybe they are a bunch of hardcore cigarette smokers who is in a race to die young (he wins! LOL! just kidding!). I may never know but I'm pretty sure I don't want to be remembered ( If I die) as a guy killed by cigarette smoking! STOP SMOKING!

Cigarette really Kills!

In my days of worse cigarette smoking (not even thinking on quitting to smoke). I have once collected cigarette packs of a Marlboro, they have these limited edition of design for their packs, the design was cool and macho. I don't remember what year was that ( I still have them kept in my drawer ), I bet they got a good sale and profit for that and additional death rate!.

I also once saw an AD on a cigarette pack which is anti-smoking AD. It is not a regular all text warning AD (that is almost invisible to read) but a huge horrible image of a smoking related disease, it is really creepy! Since it is an imported pack, I think that some countries has a regulation on cigarette packages. I personally think this works! Philippines don't have this kind of awareness, Hell! even a seven year old kid can buy a cigarette these days.

Searching the web, I viewed some of these type of cigarette packages. some are funny but majority of it is really gruesome! All are image of cigarette related disease to the max! I think it depends on the implementing country on how gruesome it can be. I've posted some on my last post, I'll be posting other images after I have them collected. It will really make you wanna Quit Smoking!

Heart of a cigarette

Quitting or stop of cigarette smoking really do well once your in a brink of dying. the worst case is that smoking is the the reason. there are many side effects, except for the relaxation purpose, may this relax us more (LOL!)

Popular knowledge amongst us is that cigarette smoking affects the heart. To make it more clear the medical term used in any heart problem is cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular disease is defined as diseases and injuries of the heart (any), the blood vessels of the heart, and the system of blood vessels (veins and arteries) throughout the body and within the brain.

The major factor on cardio diseases is that the supply of nutrients and oxygen is being limited or block, for a cigarette smoker, oxygen which is necessary in the circulation is being replace by carbon dioxide and other gases in every cigarette smoke inhalation. We don't need to be a doctor to visualize this, but once it lacks supply of oxygen our heart will then have produce oxygen to compensate the loss, resulting to a faster heart rate.

Also nicotine and other chemicals tends to deposit on the blood vessel and arteries which limits the supply of blood to the heart and a possible clogging. We all know the result of this, a stroke or heart attack.

Cigarette smoking - won't kill me!

At least that's what I think. I know that some doctors might say that a single cigarette consumption is same as a pack, but considering the number of cigarette stick I've reduce consuming per day, is a great feat for me (averaging 5 light cigarette stick daily).

I think it is for almost 2 months now. You might say that "it's nothing compared to...blah", well, that's good enough for me for now. All it takes is to have a control, I don't actually have a full control of it but I think I developed a self discipline on my cigarette smoking (the urge is now less), I hope and would try my best to maintain this and continue improving up to its elimination. The best part is my BP (blood pressure) is now consistently making it to a normal BP of 120/90 ( I have my worst at 160/100). If you are really up to it, then what you can do is think first before lighting a cigarette ( a few seconds would do!), what to think about? here's some:
  • think of your health ( I'm pretty sure we're not getting any healthier!)
  • think about the person/s surrounding you (specially if there are non-smokers or babies)
  • think of the horrible effect of excessive cigarette smoking (I think this one works for me, I can't stand a gruesome picture!)
That's it! you can have your own way on quitting cigarette smoking or have some help (medical 0r natural) but it won't work unless you are really up to it. Always remember that smoking kills, and it could be one of us!

It is easy to quit smoking

The problem with most smokers is that they wish to recover quickly from the nicotine damage, well I'm afraid there are very few easy ways to quit smoking. Easy ways to quit smoking exist but they are not as done-in-a-minute as they say and you will need a lot of determination and courage to succeed. The truth is that nowadays we need fast solutions to critical problems. Where can one look for easy ways to quit smoking? The most common answer would be on the Internet. High levels of stress are one of the biggest problems when you try to use easy ways to quit smoking and we must admit that usually our lives have a crazy rhythm. This is why I can't say that one single easy way to quit smoking really exists though theoretically there are alternatives. The cold turkey method is very disputed as some people have cured themselves using this technique while many others didn't find any relief.

I consider that the cold turkey is one easy way to quit smoking though it hasn't been confirmed yet to be highly effective. This is the theoretical easy way to quit smoking and it stands valid for those who smoke like twenty cigarettes a day. It also applies to someone that is highly-motivated by some external extreme factor. Once you feel your life at risk, you take the cold turkey method as one easy way to quit smoking. Therefore such easy ways to quit smoking do work but their effectiveness depends on lots of individual independent factors that vary from case to case.

It is normal to learn from the beginning that the easy way to quit smoking requires sacrifice and determination too. If you have a powerfully motivating factor like an illness caused by tobacco then your chances of success increase significantly. If you opt for one of the so called easy ways to quit smoking like acupuncture or over the counter treatments you considerably reduce the amount of the withdrawal symptoms. Is it Hard to Quit smoking?


From a cigarette smokers perspective quitting to smoke a cigarette is hard. Although there is a considerable number of smokers who realizes its threats or danger to himself and the public. In some cases, cigarettes cause accidental fires which is very rare. The health is the most at risk, it can cause many health complications commonly to the cardiovascular (heart) and respiratory (lungs) or worst a cancer. Why it is hard to quit? believe me it is a bad habit to break specially if your smoking cigarettes for quite sometime now. It is very obvious and widely spread that addiction to Nicotine is the cause.

Ever wonder how we really get addicted to Nicotine? When you puffs a cigarette, nicotine particlesgoes to the lungs through
inhalation. Nicotine then is absorbed and flows to our bloodstream just like the oxygen people breathe. It travels with the blood to the brain where it
locks onto certain receptor areas. Dopamine is then released into the brain. This is the culprit that makes the smoker feel a euphoric sensation. Smokers find it difficult to quit because they come to be dependent on this good feeling. And in wanting to experience this repeatedly, this leads todependence a sign of addiction. (got this from a certain medical book). Ask a cigarette smoker (me!) on what it takes to trash this habit or the things to be given up. Here is the most probable list :
  • the relaxing feeling (feels good) -
  • a good buddy ( it will be there for you for good and bad times - even in your death, LOL!)
  • they think they are still healthy
  • afraid of the withdrawal symptoms (but not afraid to die!)

  • Hunger, fatigue - Constipation, gas or stomach pain

For a long time cigarette smoker, you may not realize but there are some kind of emotional attachment to cigarettes (their the best bud!), specially during some stressful time.
We think of them as a part of our life but they are not (we just made them and we became worst). building a will to quit smoking is hard but it is not impossible, no matter how many attempt you try to quit, don't just give up. A method/s that suits you, add up to your will, will eventually lead to success. Quit smoking!

Smoking Kill scenario


A friend of mine once told me that during his visit in one manufacturing plant in china, he notice one of the smoking room with a painting on its ceiling that signifies death. He describes same as the image above, well I'm not really sure if it is the same image but it sure gives you the creeps while smoking a cigarette (whew! talk about discouragement), from the image it really doesn't bother the 2 person smoking (at least from what it shows!) but what do you think their conscious mind is thinking.

Sure their not dying in an instant but I bet we are digging our own graveyard for continuously smoking cigarettes. Our smoking room in my office don't have this kind of health care promotion. It has the same boring warning we see in cigarette packs like " smoking is dangerous to your health" and a reminder that smoking is only allowed during break time, that we all know is not effective anymore. So whenever you want to Quit smoking or reduce your cigarette consumption, how about thinking of this image, it might help you. It sure make me think twice lighting too much cigarettes in a day.

Quit smoking quest continues

I haven't updated this blog for weeks now, not that I gave up (so you must not also). Cigarette smoking still continues but carefully monitored, not much of an improvement but health consciousness is pretty much increased.

We could all go through hundreds of process or procedure in quitting cigarette smoking that are available in the internet, but we still must find a good information on all of it. Because we want to find is the more suitable for us (I mean for me), we are all different individual and we differ in our ways of living or lifestyle. Been reading some ebooks ( in my spare time) on some popular author of a stop smoking program. some claim the process is within a week result or even less. (Hmm, let see!).

There are some interesting process on quitting smoking we can find in the net, and I'm pretty much getting some info on this stuff, I'll post some of them to remind me. This blog is somewhat a personal notebook, well I just wish that I can cover much for me and for others also.

Cigarette smoking relaxation myth

I found this comic strip very funny and true. Majority of cigarettes smokers who would like to Quit Smoking has this reason or mind set that unable them (I mean us!) to find their will to stop. We think that that it relaxes us and it is a great benefit to relieve us from stress. The question is, does cigarette smoking really relaxes the mind and body?.

Base on experienced, cigarettes smoking relaxes me or it's just what I think. Smokers never really search why is this so, but we always do think that it relaxes us without even realizing that cigarette smoking do the opposite. Nicotine is a stimulant which means it increase your adrenaline and heart rate, so why do we have a feeling of relaxed state during smoking? It just really satisfy your/our craving for nicotine that is why our body feels satisfied because of the intake. It even makes us nervous and do the thinking system hay-wire because of less supply of oxygen to the brain.

So the term smoking relaxation is just a myth that is false, if we want to really feel relaxed, try to Quit Smoking, I bet we all be worry-free and relaxed.

Quit Smoking Battle plan


Why does the majority of cigarettes smokers who tried to quit smoking failed, one could say that it is because they don't really want to because only their conscience is willing but the real person is really not up to it. for non-smokers it is easy to comment on this situation, but for a long time cigarette smoker to totally stop smoking cigarettes is somewhat a big deal (damned that nicotine addiction!). You can't just flick your finger (magic don't work here!), then presto the habit is gone. Why can't magicians try this trick, maybe because the only thing they can do to disappear is the cigarette and probably got smack in the face for doing that (LOL!).

While most of us know why most failed even though there are tons of book, e-books, and products (medical or electronic) to help someone smoking. Let's check out on why others
succeed. What I mean by the success on cigarette smoking is that they are able to totally quit smoking. I did an earlier post that person with a strong will to quit will have a better chance on succeeding, I think a 50-50 chance. but there is an additional factor to increase this chance, and that is planning and preparing.

The combination of strong will, planning ang preparing must be the right way. Do you have these on your recipe? This is how I think this process should work:
  • Of course you must have a Strong will to quit (look for a good reason for you to quit smoking - there are millions)
  • Plan on how to execute it. whether you are getting some help through doctors or some gadgets and maybe naturally, you must have a plan. Make a checksheets and progress chart that suits you, by this you may know ahead of you plan the success rate for your plan.
  • Prepare yourself. there will be some obstacles or hindrance in this process but if your prepared you just can go around it.
Quitting cigarette smoking will be hard and even harder for a long time smokers but the good thing is, it is doable. Let me see I do have the will to quit, but still in the planning stage (caution: poor planning leads to failure). whatever preparation and planning you do make sure you do it well- LQS (let's Quit Smoking!)

Smoker's Cough


Here is another good reason to Quit smoking. During one of my morning cigarette smoking with coffee at the office smoking room (smokers usually meet at my office every morning), we smoke and get to have some chit-chat on current, work issues and whatever there is to talk about, mostly the humorous side. ( I limit myself to 1 cigarette stick every morning, I still like hanging out with this guys)

I once thought that some coughing on the smoking room was cause by their laughing and smoking simultaneously until one of my office mate say the term Smoker's Cough. well, everybody in the smoking room ignore him, and the chit-chat topic was changed. Laughing and occasional coughs continues (ha ha ha! cough, cough! - how's the sound of that!). Thank god I'm not experiencing it yet although I've been smoking for years now.

From what I've read majority of cigarette smoker's experience this smoker's cough, newbie cigarette smokers will not have this but in years of smoking eventually they also will experience it, if thery are unable to Quit. According to wikipedia (nice to have them),

Smoker's cough is a kind of cough seen especially in smokers. Any irritant present in the respiratory system may trigger cough, however, smoker's cough develops as a consequence of phlegm buildup in the trachea.



Cause

In the trachea, the walls are lined with cilia, small hairs that protrude from the tracheal epithelium. They move in a synchronous wavelike motion, thereby moving foreign bodies trapped in phlegm upwards towards the oropharynx, so they may be swallowed. Cigarette smoke destroys or paralyzes these cilia, so the only way that phlegm can be removed is via coughing.



You should also look at smoker’s cough as a means of suggesting that your body is less and less capable of handling the poisons you’re inhaling. It may be challenging to quit, but smoker’s cough indicates that your respiratory system is damaged. Other types of coughing, especially those that don’t resolve within an hour of waking, and if you cough up blood or yellow to green phlegm, may suggest presence of bacterial illness.

Mostly though, if you have smoker’s cough, you likely know you’ve been smoking for a long time. Possibly it’s time to consider that your body is sending you a clear message when you must cough and cough in the morning before you can start accomplishing any of your daily tasks. It’s not only unpleasant, but a signal that cigarette and tobacco smoking are simply not good for the body.

Basically, our body is giving signals of getting much toxic it can take and that something should be done to address this signal call or further or worst body failure will happen. Although there are some so-called cure for smoker's cough, it will not totally cure this. Of course you know how to cure this - Stop Smoking. If your a new cigarette smoker and don't want this to happen to you - Quit Smoking now!

3rd hand smoking - more reason to QUIT SMOKING


As majority knows the effect of cigarette smoking on the smoker and the people or persons which is nearby the smoker area of toxicity, wherein they are bound to inhale the smokes from the original smoker, the usual term for them are 2nd hand smokers, in which they are also exposed to the same danger as the smoker is.

You may not heard of but there is a term 3rd hand smoking (what!), yes there is!. and that is pretty obvious specially if you observe keenly. I personally did not know of this term (3rd hand smoking) but I always knew it. It is best observe, in my case in a smoking room (office). It is pretty obvious that even without a single person in a smoking room (room for smokers where exhaust is installed) and you enter it, you can still somehow smell cigarette smokes, in my opinion the smell actually sticks on the walls, the exhaust never really purge majority of it, and that is what you can smell. And it is damn obvious because the wall that used have a painting of white color, after some time (day or months) it is turning yellow (wow!).

3rd hand smokers are the persons who are able to inhale the chemicals or substance of a cigarette smoking without even exposing themselves to a smoker actually smoking cigarettes. where can they get it? you see particles or substance (mostly dangerous specially for children) really stick or clings in some place where smokers smoke constantly.

here are the more probable that a 3rd hand smokers may get it:

  • hair and clothes of a smokers
  • home furnitures (couch, carpets, beds and etc.)
  • cars (might stick on its upholstery)
  • smoking rooms or area (don't enter even if there is no one smoking!)
Children are of major risk here since they mostly like to play on the floor (carpets) and might put some toys in their mouth and ingest some of these toxic cigarette substance. They are at the same risk to a 2nd hand smoker. So to all cigarette smokers, stop smoking inside the your car or house, even if it is well ventilated in due time cigarette substance will accumulate and will be dangerous, better yet kill smoking there is no other way, Quit smoking!

Safe Cigarettes for Smoking?



Quit Smoking! I do wonder whether Lights, Ultra Lights and menthol cigarettes are safer than a full flavored cigarettes. Because I did switch to a lights brand of my cigarette, hoping to lessen the effect of cigarette smoking to my health and to eventually help me Quit Smoking, but do they. What are lights cigarettes? Do they really differ in a full flavored one in terms of smoking caused diseases?

These are the differences of lights to full flavored:

  • Physical appearance
  1. lights filters cover is color white, full flavored arecork-patterned paper.
  2. lights filters have tiny pin holes they called filter vents.
  3. Tobacco content (and chemicals of course) are same in quantity for lights and full flavored.

  • Smoking Effects
  1. lights cigarettes burned faster, I guess because of the paper.
  2. lights cigarettes are less irritation to throat, because of the filter vents it is supposed to dilute the smoke with air that causes it to be less dense.
  3. with lights cigarettes, more number of cigarettes will be consumed because less nicotine are taken and smoker will tend to satisfy their (our) cravings.
Even though there are claims that lights cigarettes are less harmful than a full flavored one or just a marketing strategy of the cigarette manufacturer. In reality there is really none, it
just feels more OK but it will just result to a more cigarette consumption to compensate the craving for nicotine. There is non that I know of a scientific or medical evidence that light cigarettes has less risk in developing cigarette smoking diseases, and never even heard of lights cigarettes can help someone to Quit smoking.

As for me, I will still stick to lights cigarette (i just like it!) and concentrate on lessening my consumption per day, until I can get finally on Quitting cigarette Smoking. Kill smoking cigarettes should be the ultimate goal!

Hayde Kho and Katrina Halili - Smokin' download

There has been a some sort of Pandemic in the Philippines right now, good thing it's not a cigarette smoking issue, its not even a virus, although there's an alleged H1N1 flu case that the government is monitoring or at least 3 people in the government do (LOL!). The rest is in the hype of the Dr. Hayden Kho (Celebrity doctor) and Katrina Halili (Actress) sex scandal issue. When I first heard of this gossip, I thought it was a publicity gimmick but not until someone uploaded it in the net, and blogs featured some images of it.

And it was smokin' hot in some, if not the majority of Torrent sites, where seeding and leeching is at its best. But to my surprised it's not just Katrina, there were other video clips involving 2 other girls ( a brazilian model and a commercial model - named Maricar)and there is still to come!. Yup! it is the doctors own private collection of his sexcapade via a hidden camera (or should we say Hayden camera!), Judging from what I seen, Hayden Kho (omitted title Dr.- 'cause he is now a famous pornstar, LOL!), needs to do is set-up a porn studio (non -smoking studio) and do what he loves to do, he has all the talent, he can be the director, producer, and of course the star, they could do it with a backgroung of Stop Smoking sign (that's never been done, LOL!). Or he could go to a psychiatrist or a psychologist.

According to News the Private collection of Hayden was taken from his laptop, where his former girlfriend Dr. V. Belo ask a friend (2) to delete the files of their sex video, they have one too!?. And the rest is history, a scandal has spread over the net and celphones, and the poor girls were exposed. The best thing about this issue is that politicians jump right in the scandal issue (2 senators are former actors) as if there are no other bigger issue our country is facing, they even spend hours on this senate hearing about the scandal. I don't have a slight idea of what their hearing is headin' on but I guess its going nowhere. Other issue will kill it and the scandal issue will die (no one will go to jail), the girls will be traumatized and people will forget about it. That how it has always been. Its like a cigarette that is consumed, smoke will fade and then another cigarette get light up and another smoke emerges. As for the cast of this scandal don't try to smoke cigarettes to much out of depression, its not healthy. And once again Quit smoking!

Smoking Breakthrough

I did wonder if ever I'll be able to stop smoking cigarette, I think we need is just a proper mindset for us to enable to do it. I decided to go with the long procedure. I mean my procedure that I had in mind is to reduce the quantity of cigarettes consumed per day.

It sounds pretty easy, what I did to track my cigarette consumption is to buy a pack of my brand of cigarette in one day, and that is all I have to smoke in a day, I should have not buy after that that is why I keep counting on what's left in a pack, it must have at least 1 remaining before going to sleep. I'm not really serious at first but I did set the right target because it is doable.

Yesterday, was a normal day but to my surprise when I looked at my cigarette pack I saw a leftover from yesterday, I only consumed half of it. I did have something that led me away to smoke much, I think it was the consistency of my kid, who always ask me to play with him (hhmmm!). Well, I'll still continue the reduction process until I can finally quit smoking. It is a slow process and still don't know if it will work for me but I'll work on that. It is better than doing nothing and feel sorry in the end. We can still Quit smoking!

Cigarette Content

"Stop smoking Harmful chemical"- it a good slogan but I think it is too long. Although most people already knew that nicotine is the prime substance in a cigarette, few people only realize that nicotine is just a part of something really huge variety of harmful substance specially when a cigarettes are burned and smoked. Usually a smoking person does not even bother what they are into (from my own experience, I didn't care at first) or what they are inhaling. But in an age of internet domination every information is available to anyone. how about checking my dear friend google, as you would guess there are almost infinite information on this. Others are even hilarious in writing about cigarettes stuff (that's cool!), although quit smoking issue is a serious one, it never hurts to give it some humor maybe it will reach some people.

In a cigarettes it contains a dried tobacco, which is then mixed with a variety of chemical and ingredients. according to wikipedia it contains an unimaginable 4,000 chemicals (whey!) and that is enormously many and the best news it that some of that are toxic, mutagenic and carcinogenic. Of course the content of this chemicals vary on the flavor and the brand of a cigarette.

Cigarette Smoking and Nicotine


If we are to tackle something in our lives it is best that we get useful information as much as possible, just like we do in work, whatever work you are in. Basketball is a profession (it just came into my my mind because it is the NBA playoffs), if you watch basketball you know that a certain team that win don't just play the ball, the whole team studies their opposite teams through videos and statistics, and they make the right plays and preparation in order to win. You have to know something on you opponent to win and have the advantage.

In order to quit smoking, we too should have an ample of information to have the ability to be successful, for me this blog is information gathering to help myself and others. Did you know that there are thousand of information available regarding cigarette smoking, it just not registers to everybody's brain. I do some reading from time to time on quit smoking stuff, and I like to share this topic about Nicotine, the most popular substance of a cigarette (although I found out that there are plenty more hazardous substance in it). It is from an E-book which is free, it never hurts to know something beneficial to kill smoking.

Smoking video with scary narrator

Good day! I found this simple video on cigarette smoking, in which an experiment is done to show what could have gotten to our lungs after a single puff of smoke. The experiment uses a table napkin to view a possible outcome. Watching this kind of videos really makes you have a second thought on smoking.

The narrator of the video even spoke electronically, I think he damage his throat. I bet he is a heavy smoker who was force to quit smoking cigarette because of his severe condition. He warns every cigarette smoker to stop smoking. Just watch it! Hope this come through to all of our senses, and make the best decision before it it too late!

Cigarette Smoking Instant Cure




Are you looking for an instant stop smoking scheme, I found one (LOL!).
Last night I saw an old film titled Constantine, it starred Keanu Reeves as a Paranormal psychic or whatever they call it. Anyway in this film he perform exorcism to people with devils inside them.

Aside from being a some sort of psychic, he is also a heavy smoker in this film and that he is in really bad shape because his doctors told him that he will die anytime soon because of the severed lung problem he got from smoking cigarettes (nothing's new!), but that did not urge him to quit smoking he even continue to smoke in front of the doctor (some bad ass!).
The main plot of the story is that Constantine is buying or hoping for consideration for his way to heaven by sending demons to hell, cause he is doomed to be in hell and that Lucifer itself will be the one to claim him once he died which will be sooner because of his cigarette smoking.



What makes me fond of this story is that Constantine did recover from his lung problem, Lucifer cured the wrist slashes and took off that dirt-like (some kind of a muddy oil) from his chest in an attempt to make him live (cause at that scenario he was about to go to heaven - self sacrifice made the heaven change their minds), He did it so that Constantine have to prove he's worthy of
going to heaven and also there is a chance that he will go to hell, where Lucifer wants to.



I like the end scene where you thought that he is about to light a cigarette but he chewed a gum instead, he has to die before he realize to take care of his health, fortunately he did stop smoking. Well, it is a good movie that might get you a second thought on cigarette smoking but I don't think that there will be a divine intervention when you're about to die in real life due to
cigarette smoking and it is late to realize. Our only chance is to think positive and stop smoking as soon as possible.

A vacation equals more smoking

I got some vacation, it is actually a go-to-province trip to spend some time with friends and relatives. it was quite a good one for the family, actually it is my wife's province, and with her relatives we did some of the stuff that men do, we drink! We almost drank every other day and of course you know what usually happens to a smoker during a drinking session. I got lost of tracking how many cigarettes I have consumed and I presumed it is pretty darn many.

I really don't know what's with this beer drinking , or whatever drinks that makes you drunk goes hand-in-hand with cigarette smoking (at least for me, that's one of my problem!), some of my drinking buddies then don't even smoke, others do also. And as much as I remember (in one instance), I even smoke their brand of cigarette which I don't usually like (we are of different brand of cigarettes) 'cause I have consumed mine and it is a pack (whey!). Well, I guess I've lost control, that what being drunk is.

why did I smoke that much:
  • I have a drinking buddy who smoke that much
  • It feels good while drinking but not in the morning (you can feel you're chest complaining!)
  • They even light a cigarette for me (how thoughtful! or evil LOL!)
  • I forgot that I have a self-project on Quit smoking
Well, at least it is over now, and can get back to work on cutting those cigarettes consumption per day. I normally drink with my friend at least once per month (that one has to be monitored!). One lesson I found, is that you always got to have control of yourselves before its too late, Control is the Key. I think if we can fully control ourselves that is the best start on quitting cigarette smoking. Lets look for that control not the TV remote control.

Smoking during Pregnancy


The scene of looking at a pregnant smoker is a nuisance to me, it gives a very wrong impression to other people (young and adults) of being careless and selfish (not that they doesn't share their cigarettes but their sharing it the wrong way). Well I'm not sure, but I think having that kind of situation (being pregnant) gives some, if not, enough motivation to stop smoking (life is at stake!), or at least for the pregnancy period (I don't know if that is possible).

Considering it gives health problem to adults what more to an unborn baby. I'm not a doctor but it is pretty obvious that the unborn child will likely to get oxygen, blood and other nutrients from his mother's intake and with cigarette smoking, you'll also pass the harmful chemicals such as nicotine and etc., that eventually you'll also deal later (who else!). For pregnant smokers kindly give it a thought and some consideration, to protect the health of your baby and you. Don't take the risk!

I've took some notes on some harmful effect that smoking cigarette during pregnancy can incur:
  • Miscarriage
  • Harmful chemical pass to unborn baby is cancerous
  • Congenital defects in the baby - such as cleft palate
  • The born baby has a high possibility of having health and development problem (both physical and mental)
  • The risk of Stillbirth or death within the first week of life
Hope this helps/warns pregnant smoker on making up their mind. Quit Smoking!

To our Great Mothers

Last Sunday was a celebrated day to all mothers, it is a great way to recognize them. It is called Mother's Day. We all may have different mothers but one thing for sure they really do care a lot to all their sons and daughters, in all their different ways. I don't live with my parents, I do have a family now and we celebrate it (my wife and son) by going out. We strolled on a Mall, while greeting our parents on the celebrated day through our cellphone. Good thing there's a cellphone they have become a necessary device rather than just a necessity. I've refrain smoking on the mall cause it is not allowed and I was busy sight-seeing, these are the times when I get to limit my nicotine intake (good for me!).

I remember the first time my Mother saw me smoking a cigarette, although I did smoke some during college days but it was when I am already working that she get to formally saw me ( it was intentional, see MoM I'm a grown up, LOL!). My mother was not infuriated by that, I think because my father also smoke cigarettes-once a chain smoker but already quit, age and health almost caught up on him, but she's kinda disappointed, she just made a tiger look on Dad as if saying "it must be your fault". But you know mothers they can really get to your skin, every time we met (that is on occasions only), there would be a non-stop motherly advice on quitting to smoke, and some scary stories that she would always brought up related to cigarette smoking, you know what they say "Mother's knows best!".

Listening to our mothers is not always a nag, I remember my father saying that you'll fully understand when you grow up. Yes, I understand now, the need of a mother that we normally take for granted, they are the person that will really come running when we are in trouble on whatever age you are, I really Love my Mother. I did make her proud, I graduated from college and now working and living on my own. I think I would make her prouder if I could just show her that I've stop smoking, that would really put a smile on my Family and to my MOM.

Reponsible Smoker?

Hope there are many. We know that smoking is bad for our health, yet we still love to smoke cigarettes (well! it's a choice of dying!). But smoking can also harm others, in case you don't mind, there is a term second hand smoking. You see, you're smoke are eventually inhaled by others around you and are most probably in high risk of having the diseases cause by smoking than you are.

When smoking, be responsible, its our choice in the first place not theirs, so don't inflict harm on the innocent unless you're a terrorist. As what I've notice terrorist loves to terrorize the people who are helpless (can't fight back) and innocent, how about they terrorize themselves, that would be very fun or terrorize other terrorist location, much entertaining, LOL! (it's just my 2 cents).

All I'm pointing out is be a responsible smoker (yeah! talk about responsibility), just be considerate to others (yes! we can). I smoke too, but I really hate seeing a pregnant woman smoking (Jeezh!), I mean, how can she be a responsible mother to her baby, when she doesn't care on the first place. Too all smokers, specially the pregnant one, if you care less of your self, give some little care on others, specially your family.

How about this self inflicted rule:
  • don't smoke on public places (specially with no smoking sign)
  • avoid smoking in front of children
  • avoid smoking in places where pregnant and old persons are around
  • for pregnant women, please don't smoke a cigarette or even try one
  • After smoking completely put off the cigarette burn and throw it in a trash (I've experience this one, the trash got burning because of some tissue)
  • don't convince others to smoke or try to give them one (you are not death! I hope)
  • how about thinking of quitting cigarette smoking (I've got that one mark on my brain)
Quit smoking is the best thing we can do, it will improve our lives and health and others too!. It's never too late to quit, how about attempting not to smoke, well that's a good start. we all have to start onto something, I'm starting, I'm just not there yet!

How hard can it be?

If you are a long time cigarette smoker, I mean at least for 10 years now. it will be hard to Quit Smoking and it is very hard I've tried it but no avail. I got a record of no cigarette smoking for 2 days and that is because I'm very sick . How come it is easy to kill ourselves with cigarette smoking and hard to get rid of it?, we should think of the opposite.
We all might find this useful it is much more comprehensive, I've read it on an e-book I downloaded from a torrent (hope, you know what I mean).

Look at the following Reasons for Quitting: -
  • You will live longer and live better.
  • Become a high-energy person without cigarettes
  • Quitting will lower your chance of having a heart attack

Searching the internet gives you a lot of information on quitting cigarettes smoking, that's what I do in spare time get some necessary tool (information) to have a success on this before setting a time to quit, it might be not now but Ill do it!

Kill Smoking or Get a Buerger!


Well! this might catch some fear on you! (It did some to me!), I bet quitting cigarette smoking will cross your mind again. I saw this on a TV shows which features a cigarette smoking related disease. It is called a Buerger's disease (it is pronounce as burger, that one is yummy, this is not!). Guess what? This type of disease is exclusive to smokers only (damn!), it start with hands or feet getting in pain (actual interview on a patient says that it is painful!), actually blood is not in good circulation in these parts of the body which doctors think that it is cause by some ingredient in tobacco, particularly on cigarettes (yikes!).

Bad condition of this will result to the development of Gangrene (look at photos above) and unbearable pain. You know what? amputation is the final result on this situation (more yikes!). well it won't kill you instantly but it will tear you apart piece by piece literally.

Guess again, the only treatment for Buerger's disease is a complete stop on smoking and nothing else. Let's Quit Smoking!

Is there an Ultimate way to Stop Smoking?

There are claims that there is, but if you ask me, there's no ultimate way to stop smoking (not that I've tried any). Every person is different and a way that might be effective to one person might not be to other or chances are very low. Ask some people you know who stop smoking (if you know one) of how they did it, chances are you also get a different motivation and answers. Fortunately I know one person who Quit Smoking, but unfortunately he's very sick right now.

There are available medications that claim can help you Quit smoking in no time, some I think have been trying that, although I saw in one news that some "quit smoking medications" makes you insane (I think that brand was banned already), some goes to religion and while others just did it because their dying (that's not what I wanted!) or want to recover from their health. And there a some instance that they just did it by themselves (pure will!)


Some smokers wants to stop smoking but their not totally serious, deep inside we have some dumb reasons. Getting fat, that's one issue although I don't think Nicotine has got something to do with that, and others just don't want to give up their coolness (Cool to be Dead! LOL!). Finding the best way to stop smoking is for every smokers to find out, it can be discovered more easily by people who have a stronger character (I'm trying to build that character!), this is why many find quitting the hardest thing they've ever tried while others say that they simply quit without medication or any other help.

Reason to Quit Smoking

Besides from not wanting to die, of course we all are familiar with the effect, mainly through our respiratory system, there's mouth, throat, larynx and the lung that are all prone to cancer, also prone to stroke and other heart diseases.

Why not look at it at a monetary side, yes! you can save a lot,if you count in years and the years to come (it won't make you a millionaire - I hope so.). The money saved can be beneficial to you (just don't use it to by a pot!), calculate it yourself (cause I did - and from my computation, I could have be buying now a handsome digital camera!).

One day I left my pack of cigarette on our couch, when I get back I saw my five year old son sticking a cigarette on his mouth, of course I took it back and ask him not to cause it is bad (I didn't say it kills that too horrifying!). like any other child at that age would question why are you doing it if its bad, I just answer that I was bad but now trying to be good (I'd be quitting smoking!), then I open the TV to cartoons so that he may forget it (he will, he's just 5). I came to realize that the major factors that minors get the Idea of smoking is from adults smokers whom they know (neighbors, relatives, etc) and who didn't even realize that they are the no.1 advertiser and promoter of cigarette smoking. I tried to hide smoking cigarette to kids, but I think its no good. it just got to stop, when? I still don't know, but its never too late and we might save some minors going through it!

Friends and Doctor


For all cigarette smokers out there (including me!), if you're not gonna stop smoking eventually it will kill you unless you die of another cause (lucky you!), it will caught up on us. Better do something before it hits you!. Yeah, we all have some dumb reason why we continue smoking, why did I even start? let me see, oh yes! at first I thought that it was cool, well it is still cool smoking around with my peers (some of them smoke too) specially during a Friday night drinking session smoking is endless. I started at the end year of my college, 1 stick from a friend turns to 2 then 3, then I started buying a pack for myself. When I started to work there's even a smoking room for all damn smokers, smoking continues while chatting during a coffee break with a cigarette. All at the smoking room (or death chamber, yikes!) feels more masculine and smart (LOL!). Not even a slightest fear of what cigarette smoking can bring us, there are sort of dumber excuse that smoking can't affect them (so they say).
  • they exercise a lot, toxins are washed away by sweat
  • they drink a lot of water
  • they took vitamins (vitamin C or ascorbic)
  • they eat a lot of fruits
  • And the best one is, their Grandfather died after quiting smoking
It is all a lame excuse smoking cigarettes is smoking and that's period. I've once talk to a doctor (a cardiologist) who is looking after my blood pressure, he ask me if I smoke, I said yeah, and to cover my guilt, I said well I used to smoke a pack a day now it's just 10 sticks/day, his reply is not some kind of a doctor-like, he didn't say quit smoking now!. The good doctor says " It doesn't matter, One day you'll just stop smoking", then I asked how's that? he told me that "one day you would not be able to light a cigarette because of a stroke!" (what a motivation! and a bummer!). Well I get what he's trying to say that it is all up to me to quit smoking. Just like any other AD campaign they are just reminding us.

All Smokers want to Quit Smoking

We all heard and saw all sorts of campaign pertaining to negative effect of smoking by government, health institute, and there's even a warning labeled right in front of a cigarette pack (Wow! cigarette manufacturers do care to!). But there's no stopping cigarette smoking, there are more young people (even younger nowadays) that are starting to smoke than the ones dying from it.

To quit smoking once you're hooked into (or addictive-a more powerful term) is not easy, believe me I'm a cigarette smoker too and its been my 3 years New Years resolution to stop smoking on my 12 years of polluting my body and the environment (just like all my resolution, Jeez!). But I think its never too late (I think!), self motivation I think is the key to this quit smoking thing and that's what I'm about to do. Kill the smokers, oops! I mean the smoking.
